About Mauqa
Some schools in Lahore have an advisor whose job is to tell students which MUN to enter, which NGO needs volunteers, and when the sports trials are. Most schools do not. Mauqa is that advisor, for everyone, for free.
Where the listings come from
Once a day, an automated sweep checks a fixed list of Lahore organisations — universities, NGOs, the arts council, the sports board, olympiad organisers, MUN societies. Anything new lands in a review queue. A person then reads it, checks it against the source, and either publishes it or throws it out.
We do not scrape the whole internet looking for events. We tried that first and it returned mostly noise — American competition listicles and unrelated business expos. A short list of organisations that genuinely run things for young people in this city turns out to be far more useful than a long list of everything.
What we cannot see
Most of this actually lives on Instagram, and Instagram cannot be read automatically. So a good number of school societies and smaller academies are invisible to us unless somebody tells us. That is the honest limitation, and it is exactly why the submit form matters more than the scanner does.
Before you start collecting certificates
Extracurriculars matter, but they are not magic. LUMS and NUST review holistically and do look at debating, MUN, sports and community work — but your grades and entry-test score still carry the most weight. Where extracurriculars really count is in setting apart two applicants who look the same on paper, and in applications abroad, where they weigh far more heavily. Do these things because they are worth doing; the application benefit follows.

Who is this for?
Any school student in Lahore, roughly grades 9 to 12, plus the teachers and parents who pass things along. You do not need to be at a particular school.
Does it cost anything?
The site is free and always will be. Individual opportunities may charge their own entry fee — that is set by whoever runs them, and we show it on every listing so there are no surprises.
How do I know a listing is real?
Every listing links to the source it came from, and a person approved it before it went live. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will pull it.
Why only Lahore?
Because a thin national list is useless and a complete city list is not. Lahore first, properly, then the next city.
I run an event. How do I get listed?
Use the submit form. It is free, and it goes into the same review queue as everything else.
Something is out of date.
Listings expire automatically once their date passes, but organisers change plans. Report it and we will fix it.
Something wrong?
Listings go stale, organisers change plans, and we get things wrong. If something here is out of date or simply not true, use the submit form and say so in the details box — it reaches the same review queue, and we will fix or remove the listing.
